When Encounter Christian Centre acquired a warehouse and office site in a commerical area they engaged us to review the site design and to prepare an Impact Assessment to accompany the resource consent for the new church auditorium and offices.
A key part of the project was addressing the high parking demand within the small space available. This was overcome by the church obtaining agreements from surrounding business owners to utilize their parking spaces outside business hours, which is when the largest church services occur. Combined with a moderate supply of on-site parking to handle the business-hours church activities this convinced Council to grant consent, and the site has been operating well.
