Expert Witness

We are often called upon to appear as an expert witness in hearings or court cases and we have presented evidence for:

  • resource consent hearings
  • plan change and plan variation hearings
  • environment court appeals
  • district court cases
  • high court cases

We have acted for a variety of parties including applicants, submitters for or against a proposal, and for local authorities including Auckland Council, Whangarei District Council, Waipa District Council, and the former North Shore City Council and Waitakere City Council.

Recent Expert Witness Projects

We reviewed the site plan and made recommendations for improvements to the parking and access arrangements.  We undertook parking surveys and assessed the impact of the proposal.  We also provided a report for resource consent and evidence to a planning hearing.

Life, a church headquartered in Mt Eden Auckland was facing considerable expansion and wished to increase the capacity of it's church buildings.  When the church met with Auckland Council to discuss the project they discovered that the church land would be within the designation for the Central Rail Loop project and the land would be acquired by Auckland Transport.
